Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10 July 2026 · Applies to the Driftlit pre-launch website and waitlist
Driftlit is currently in its pre-launch phase. This policy explains what data we collect when you join the waitlist, why, and what your rights are.
1. Who is responsible for your data
The data controller is Bence Mihályi (private individual, Budapest, Hungary — sole proprietorship registration in progress). Contact: mihalyi.bence00@gmail.com
2. What we collect and why
When you join the waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address — to tell you when Driftlit launches.
- Your chosen role (reader, writer, or both) — so emails are relevant to you.
- Whether you have a book ready (writers only) — to reach out to early writers before launch.
- The time you signed up — for basic record-keeping.
We don’t collect names, use analytics, or use tracking cookies.
3. Legal basis
We process your data based on your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)), given by submitting the waitlist form. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Who else touches your data
- Supabase — database where waitlist entries are stored.
- Brevo — email service that sends our messages.
- Vercel — hosts this website.
- Google Fonts — loads fonts; your browser sends a request including your IP address to Google.
We never sell your data. Transfers outside the EEA rely on EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
5. How long we keep it
Until launch communications are complete, or until you ask us to delete it. If Driftlit does not launch, the waitlist will be deleted.
6. Your rights
Under GDPR you can request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or withdraw consent. Email mihalyi.bence00@gmail.com. You can also complain to the NAIH (naih.hu).
7. Unsubscribing
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also reply to any email and ask a human.
8. Children
This site is not directed at children under 16.
9. Changes
When Driftlit launches, a new, more detailed policy will replace this one.
